No school for students due to Teacher In-service on January 2, 2017. Students return on January 3, 2017.
On behalf of the Elementary Department of Special Services, we are honored to name Oak Park Elementary SPED teacher, Ms. Tracy Mele as the Elementary Department of Special Service’s Super Hero of the Week. Ms. Mele has been teaching a total of 10 years and has spent 4 of those years working with special need’s students. Ms. Mele shared with us that when she was in high school she had the opportunity to work at a camp for disabled children and that is what drew her to the special education field. Ms. Mele strongly believes that all students can and will learn. She stated that it might be at a much slower pace but learning can/will take place. When Ms. Mele is not working she likes to spend time with her son and give him as many positive experiences as she can. Congratulations, Ms. Tracy Mele! Thank you for your commitment, determination, and hard work.
